This photograph one of a series of three that was taken on our recent trip to Ynys Llanddwyn (Llanddwyn Island) at the small beach next to Twr Mawr lighthouse; it’s a fantastic little beach especially when the tide is coming in and driven by a strong wind, the waves come crashing into the beach and the surrounding rocks, which makes for some fantastic photography. There are so many interesting elements that can be utilised at a beach setting and one of my favourites is to find a rock to focus on in the foreground and use varying speeds to capture how the ebb and flow of tide interacts with it. This shot is one such example; you could take five shots at varying speeds and all would be different to each other. I particularly liked this capture; the swirling nature of the sea around the rock catches my eye, which is in contrast to the straight lines of the receding tide and then as you look beyond the rock, you are greeted by a vibrant blue sea with sun soaked broken cloud on the horizon that hints at movement and change.
