St Lawrence Church in the notorious village of Eyam, which was known as the plague village because when the bubonic plague was brought to the village in 1665, the villagers took the brave move to quarantine the village from the outside world in order to contain the plague. It was successful but cost the village 260 lives from a population of 350 people.
