I walked for about an hour and half in heavy rain with my camera gear through Bryn Dansi forest before I came across this scene; don?t get me wrong I was kitted out weather proof wise and I was enjoying every moment of it. But when I spotted the young sapling reaching up into the sky I had to photograph it.
It struck me that it was symbolic of life?s struggle itself; the small and weak, competing against the large and established for light and space. Yet the beauty of the scene was; despite the heavy rain and mist it was bathed in this diffused light, it was defying the odds and the injustice of its circumstance.
