It was really good to get back over to South Stack Lighthouse again and enjoy watching the sun go down.
I have chosen this composition of the lighthouse before but that was dictated by the fact I was shooting in a storm and this location offered me some shelter from the wind.
However, after viewing that earlier capture I was really surprised on how much I liked it; I loved the curvature of the stone staircase wall in the foreground and how the composition portrayed the lighthouse and island not only as beacon of hope to shipping but the actual physical relationship with the sea, in that the sea swirling all around the lighthouse island was giving the impression it was natural part of the sea.
Going back to the foreground; the broken wall is a key element of interest and part of the attraction of the composition because it draws the eye and portrays how harsh the elements can be here/
