This is one of my favourite compositions of Twr Mawr lighthouse, in this instance it was captured just as a squall was coming in from the south, the wind was getting up, the sea was getting angry and the brightening light had dipped enough to make a good shot. I set the camera to F11, dropped the ISO to 50 and used a circular polarizer and a six stop neutral density filter to expose the capture for six seconds and this photograph is the end result.Referring back to the weather you could almost predict how the day would pan out because it followed a regular pattern; a squall would follow the mainland from the south up the Llyn Peninsula and then come across the Menai Strait to Anglesey, bringing wind and driving rain. The periods between the squalls were bright with sun. The transitions between the periods and incoming squalls were the best time to do photography.
